This Privacy Policy explains what information about you is collected and how it is processed when you use digital services such as the FIG Website, Event Management System (EMS), or other registration and digital information systems (collectively the “Services”). By using the Services, you agree to your information being collected and processed in accordance with this Privacy Policy by the Fédération Internationale de Gymnastique (FIG).

When we refer to “we”, “our” or “us”, we are referring to FIG, and when we refer to “you” or “your”, we refer to you as a user of the Services whose data we process.

FIG is the data controller of data collected through the Services, except where specific privacy notices provided in relation to the Services state otherwise.


 WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT?

a) Information you provide to us

This includes data submitted when registering for the Services, creating an account, communicating with FIG, or subscribing to event services such as accreditation or newsletters.

  • Account data: Name, email, country of residence, login credentials, and optionally, date of birth, interests, and location for a personalised experience.
  • Third-party login data: If using services like Facebook or Google, data provided may include your name, email, birthdate, and other identifiers.
  • Fitness apps (if applicable): May include performance metrics and location, subject to their terms.
  • Event registration and accreditation data: Name, gender, birth details, contact details, ID/passport data, travel and accommodation info, and other data needed for accreditation.
  • Communication data: Email, phone, and message content for support or service enquiries.
  • Results data: Competition results, timing, video, rankings, and performance stats, which may be published online.

b) Automatically collected data

  • Cookies and similar technologies
  • Public data: May include publicly available social media or competition data, combined with our collected data to improve your experience.

HOW DO WE USE YOUR INFORMATION?

HOW DO WE PROTECT YOUR DATA?

  • Security measures: We apply technical and organisational controls to safeguard your personal data.
  • International transfers: Your data may be transferred outside of Switzerland or the EU. We use standard contractual clauses and other recognised safeguards.
  • Children’s data: Use of Services is only permitted for users 13+, or with guardian consent. We delete unauthorised data from minors upon notice.
  • Retention: Data is retained only as long as necessary for its purpose. Publicly shared competition results may remain online for historical and statistical purposes.

LEGAL BASIS FOR PROCESSING

a) Contractual necessity

Used to provide Services, manage registrations, maintain security, and communicate with users.

b) Consent

Used for marketing communications where you have explicitly agreed.

c) Legitimate interest

ADDENDUM: Use of Swiss Timing and EMS

Fédération Internationale de Gymnastique collaborates with Swiss Timing Ltd, rue de l'Envers 1, 2606 Corgémont, Switzerland, for the provision of timing, scoring, accreditation, and results services through the Event Management System (EMS).

Swiss Timing acts as a data processor on behalf of FIG. It accesses your data only for the purpose of delivering services such as:

  • Registration and accreditation processing
  • Domestic transportation and accommodation coordination
  • Management of competition results

Data categories include: name, gender, birth data, contact details, ID/passport info, travel info, accommodation, sports discipline, rankings, and results.

Retention: Swiss Timing retains your data for up to six months after the event, unless you withdraw earlier.
